The members and the friends who make the VJCC their home-away-from-home are an amazing group of people. One has only to witness a set-up before Bingo Night, the Natsu Matsuri Summer Festival, or the Shinnen Enkai & Keiro Kai, and the subsequent clean-up that happens within the blink of an eye to know that we are a group of people who work well together to maintain our community center.
The Center is like our own homes in that it needs a special top-to-bottom cleaning a couple of times a year. One of those times – Spring Clean-up Day – is happening on Sunday, March 16 beginning at 8:00 a.m. Members can bring their work gloves and cleaning rags to help with mopping floors, scrubbing kitchen and bathrooms, washing windows, and wiping down classroom furniture. All help is welcome!
The Center is also like our own homes in that we each have to clean up after ourselves on a daily basis. There is no cleaning crew that comes to wash away the messes of the day. Each of us likes to come into a room that is ready to use when we get there. That means each of us needs to do our best to clean up after ourselves so the next person to come into the room has the same experience. A little consideration goes a long, long way.
However you help to keep the VJCC someplace to be enjoyed by all of us is appreciated!
