Happy 2021! We are looking forward to a great new decade!

Our Senior Nutrition Program meets Monday through Friday, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. The dining area is in the southwest corner of the VJCC complex.

The current program was created, developed, and implemented by Hitoshi Shimizu over 30 years ago.  The mission was to provide a nutritionally balanced meal for seniors. Our dining room provides a warm, friendly atmosphere and a chance for seniors to connect with old friends and make new ones.

We play Bingo before lunch every Friday at 10:15 a.m., giving away a variety of prizes with weekly freebies —nobody goes away empty handed.
Cake Day — the third Friday of each month — celebrates the birthdays of all our friends with birthdays that month.  The cakes are as great as the guests they honor.

We try to incorporate various activities to keep our seniors healthy, active, and educated. See the VJCC newsletter for upcoming events and offered services For example, podiatrist, Dr. Teshima, visits on the last Tuesday of every month to provides his services to any VJCC senior who needs them.

If you are interested in the senior lunch program, please come and visit, or if you have any questions, please contact the nutrition site coordinator, Jae Toyota at jaetoyota@hotmail.com.

Our amazing volunteers are the key to the success of the program. If you are interested in volunteering, you can contact Jae at the above email address or call the VJCC office at 310-822-8885.

Thank you.
